The public should be prepared for SUSTAINED sub-freezing temperatures and wind gusts up to 35 mph creating hazardous travel conditions

The City of Warner Robins is expected to experience sustained sub-freezing temperatures this weekend, accompanied by strong wind gusts reaching up to 35 miles per hour. These conditions will create dangerously cold wind chills and could cause even small amounts of snow to accumulate quickly, leading to slick and hazardous travel conditions throughout the area.

An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect from late Saturday through Sunday. City officials are encouraging residents to take precautions now to protect their homes, families, and property.

To help residents prepare, the City is reminding the community to protect the Four P’s: Pipes, People, Plants, and Pets.

Protect Your Pipes

  • Turn off water to sprinkler systems

  • Open sink cabinets to allow warm air to circulate

  • Let hot and cold water faucets drip slowly (about pencil-lead width) to keep water moving

Protect Your People

  • Check on older adults and those with medical needs

  • Dress in layers and stay warm

  • Be prepared for potential power outages

Protect Your Plants

  • Cover outdoor plants before temperatures drop

  • Bring plants indoors if possible

Protect Your Pets

  • Keep pets warm, dry, and indoors

  • Ensure food and water do not freeze

  • Limit time outside during extreme cold

Residents are advised to use caution while traveling, as road conditions may become hazardous quickly.

The City of Warner Robins will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates as needed through official communication channels.
