Warner Robins, Georgia - Due to the forecast of inclement weather, the City of Warner Robins has made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony originally scheduled for this evening from 5pm-8pm. While we are disappointed that the weather will prevent our traditional gathering at Perkins Park, the holiday spirit will still shine bright in Warner Robins.
To ensure the community can still enjoy this beloved annual moment, the official tree lighting will now take place virtually via Facebook Live on the City of Warner Robins Government page. Residents are invited to tune in from the comfort and safety of their homes as we “flip the switch” together and usher in the holiday season.
“Although the weather isn’t working in our favor, we remain committed to bringing joy and holiday cheer to our community,” said Mayor LaRhonda Patrick. “Moving the lighting online allows families to still take part in the tradition without compromising their safety.”
The Facebook Live stream will begin at 6:15pm, and the City encourages everyone to gather their families, cozy up inside, and join us online for the magical moment when our Christmas tree comes to life.
We look forward to celebrating with you virtually and appreciate your understanding as we prioritize the wellbeing of our residents and guests. Be sure to follow the City of Warner Robins Government Facebook page for updates, reminders, and the live broadcast link.
