Warner Robins, Georgia - City of Warner Robins crews have restored water service following a sinkhole and major water line break that occurred late yesterday afternoon on Watson Boulevard near Olympia Drive. The break involved a water main approximately 25 feet underground, originally constructed in the 1960s.
While road work and lane closures will continue for several days, water service has now been fully restored to customers along Watson Boulevard.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
There is NO need to boil your water.
Run your water taps for 2–3 minutes to clear the lines.
Sputtering or spitting water is normal and caused by air in the pipes.
Water may appear cloudy—this is expected and temporary.
BEST PRACTICES:
Begin by running water from your outside spigot or the lowest faucet in your home.
Work your way up to higher faucets.
Wait at least 30 minutes before using your hot water heater, dishwasher, or washing machine.
Clean faucet aerators if water flow seems restricted.
If water is still cloudy after 24 hours, please contact the Utilities Department at 478-302-5438.
TRAFFIC IMPACT:
At least one eastbound lane of Watson Boulevard will remain closed until repairs are complete, with periodic full eastbound closures.
During full closures, the center turn lane will be used to keep traffic moving.
Motorists traveling to Robins Air Force Base are encouraged to use Russell Parkway or Green Street as alternate routes.
We appreciate the community’s patience as crews continue the complex work required to fully restore the roadway.
