Keep Warner Robins Beautiful (KWRB) invites you to celebrate Arbor Day by planting a tree!  Tree seedlings will be available FREE OF CHARGE (while they last) to the public on Saturday, February 24, 2018 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Kroger on Highway 96.

In 1872, J. Sterling Morton proposed to the Nebraska Board of Agriculture that a special day be set aside for the planting of trees.  This celebration was to be called Arbor Day and it would recognize the importance of trees in our lives.  The first Arbor Day in 1872 was a great success!  More than one million trees were planted and the idea spread to neighboring states.  Today, more than 140 years later, Arbor Day is celebrated in all fifty states and in countries throughout the world.   J. Sterling Morton’s dream of a greener tomorrow is still alive.  Our cities are becoming greener, healthier places in which to live and people everywhere are more aware of the need to plant trees.  For as J. Sterling Morton said, trees are “...a joy forever.”

This is a project of KWRB’s Youth Advisory Board (YAB); members will be available to answer questions about planting and caring for the seedlings. YAB representatives are selected at the beginning of each school year from local schools.

Please join in this effort to beautify Warner Robins.  Together, we can make a difference!
